DiCaprio honored at GQ Men of the Year party

Actors Leonardo DiCaprio and John Malkovich walked away with top awards at this year's (08) GQ Men of the Year ceremony.

The Body Of Lies star picked up the Leading Man Trophy, while Malkovich was named Mad Genius of the Year at the men's magazine awards ceremony in Los Angeles on Tuesday (18Nov08).

President-elect Barack Obama was given the nod as Game Changer of the Year, actor Jon Hamm was handed the Breakout award and Olympic champion Michael Phelps took home the ultimate accolade for Golden Boy of the Year.

The glittering party attracted some of Hollywood's brightest male stars, including DiCaprio, Zac Efron, Adam Brody and Aaron Eckhart.

And although the annual celebration recognizes leading men, the ladies were out in full force too, with Megan Fox, Rosario Dawson and Elisha Cuthbert turning out for the red carpet bash.

Spears wants Beckham soccer lessons

Britney Spears has a crush on David Beckham - and is begging the British star to give her soccer lessons.

The Toxic hitmaker is a big fan of the sport but admits her soccer skills are not quite up to scratch.

And she has called on the Los Angeles Galaxy star to give her some helpful tips on how to play the game.

She tells OK magazine, "David Beckham - he's a cutie. I am not a very good soccer player, so I have to get someone in to help me. Maybe he can."

Howard praises 'authentic and true' Jolie

Moviemaker Ron Howard has hailed Angelina Jolie's valiant efforts as a working actress and mother of six - praising the Hollywood beauty for coping with such "huge undertakings".

Howard, who was producer on the actress' latest movie Changeling, was impressed by the way Jolie deals with the pressures of being one of Hollywood's most famous stars while she raises a bustling brood of young children with partner Brad Pitt.

And the Da Vinci Code director reveals that despite Jolie's glamorous life and stunning looks, she is just a regular mom.

He tells OK! magazine, ""As powerful and glamorous a person as she is, she was 100 per cent authentic and true.

"For anybody who takes on that task and decides to deal with it responsibly, it means that there's not much time for anything else. You can love your family and you can love your work, and that had better be the extent of it because they're both huge undertakings."

Spears: 'I married for the wrong reasons'

Britney Spears has realized her marriage to Kevin Federline was a mistake - because she tied the knot for all the "wrong reasons".

The pop superstar stunned fans when she announced her engagement to backing dancer Federline in 2004 after just three months together.

They wed two months later in a surprise ceremony in California, officially becoming man and wife in October (04).

Spears filed for a divorce from Federline in 2006, citing irreconcilable differences as the reason behind the split. The divorce was finalised in July last year (08).

And the singer, who gushed about her love for Federline in their 2005 MTV reality show Britney & Kevin: Chaotic, has confessed she didn't know what she was letting herself in for when she walked down the aisle with her former beau.

In a candid new documentary, Britney: For The Record, the singer says, "I think I married for the wrong reasons.

"Instead of following my heart and doing what made me really happy, I just did it for the sake of the idea of everything."

Federline was granted sole custody of the former couple's sons Sean Preston, three, and two-year-old Jayden James after Spears had a series of public meltdowns, including a headline-grabbing incident when she shaved off her hair.

Jolie struggles to breastfeed twins

Angelina Jolie struggled as a new mom to twins - because breastfeeding them became a huge chore.

The actress admits she had to stop suckling newborns Knox and Vivienne after three months - because she was exhausted.

Jolie tell U.K. TV show GMTV, "It was about as much as I could do.

"There's this football hold - it's a lot harder than it looks in the books. I did that a few times. I would take turns. It just takes a long time."

Hoffman was cut out to be a jazz pianist

Dustin Hoffman is convinced he would have lived his life as a jazz pianist if his acting career hadn't taken off with The Graduate.

The movie great still thinks pal Mike Nichols was playing a joke on the world when he cast Hoffman as his lead in the cult movie.

And the actor feels sure that he would have continued as a theater hopeful until jazz came calling.

He tells WENN, "I really wanted to be a jazz pianist... Acting was just a way to fail with a little more ease and not have my lack of talent show so much as it did on piano. I just had this freak accident happen, called Mike Nichols."

And he reveals he's had a little success with his second career: "I actually wrote a composition we used for my new movie, Last Chance Harvey, when I was in my 20s and my first girlfriend left me for my acting teacher. It's called Shoot The Breeze.

"Bette Midler wrote the lyrics and sang it once and Sting has sung it."

Shiloh: 'You can call me John'

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's daughter Shiloh is in the middle of an identity crisis - she only responds to the name John.

The cute two year old is obsessed with Peter Pan, and loves to pretend she's one of the Darling brothers from the J.M. Barrie story.

Pitt reveals, "She only wants to be called John. John or Peter. So it's a Peter Pan thing.

"So we've got to call her John: 'Shi, do you want...' - 'John. I'm John.' And then I'll say, 'John, would you like some orange juice?'

"It's just that kind of stuff that's cute to parents, and it's probably really obnoxious to other people."

Beyonce wants to make Justin her real backing dancer

Beyonce Knowles was so impressed with Justin Timberlake's spoof stint as her backing dancer on comedy show Saturday Night Live at the weekend (15Nov08), she is offering him a full-time job on the road with her.

Timberlake slipped into lycra and high heels for a skit on the show, in which he and SNL regulars Andy Samberg and Bobby Moynihan danced to Knowles' new track Single Ladies.

And the Bootylicious star was impressed with the pop hunk's moves. She says, "I still can't believe he did that. He was incredible. We rehearsed it two times. He picked up the choreography. He has this photographic memory. He could probably kill it if he wanted to."

Theron's new watchmaker deal lands her a charity gem

The watchmaker who Charlize Theron turned to following her alleged contract breach with another is backing the actress' South African AIDS charity.

Famed Italian jeweller Breil will auction off a white gold 27.93-carat champagne diamond pave Breil Milano Battio heart pendant next year (09) to benefit the actress' Africa Outreach Project.

Theron turned to Breil after she reached an out-of-court settlement with Raymond Weil after his company sued her, alleging she broke an exclusivity agreement by wearing other companies' watches during her contract.

According to Eonline.com, Theron became a spokesmodel for for Breil seven months after the suit was filed.

Holmes rushes home to celebrate anniversary

Katie Holmes jetted home to Los Angeles after a recent performance in New York - so she could celebrate her second year of marriage with husband Tom Cruise.

Holmes took off to the west coast after Sunday's (16Nov08) matinee performance of her hit Broadway play All My Sons.

The couple reportedly spent a quiet evening at their L.A. home on Monday (17Nov08) before the actress had to rush back for her regular Tuesday show.

Cruise and Holmes married on 18 November 2006 in a star-studded ceremony in Italy - to the dismay of critics, sceptical their relationship was a mere publicity stunt.

In an interview last year (07), Cruise said of the lavish wedding, "As big as it was from the outside, it was a very personal experience and something obviously I'll never forget."

The pair was reportedly joined by their two-year-old daughter, Suri, and Cruise's adopted children from his marriage to Nicole Kidman - Isabella, 15, and Connor, 13 - to mark the event.
